Netscape communicator includes its own email client application. Netscape Navigator 3.0 and above includes a similar application and the same basic instructions should apply.
In Communicator, click on EDIT ... PREFERENCES
- Click on the plus sign to the left of "Mail & Groups"
- Click on "Identity"
- Under "Your Name" enter your name or your nick name
- Under "Email Address" enter your email address using the @ sign
(ie. johndoe@mydomain.com)
- Leave the "Reply-to Address" blank
- Click on "Mail Server" (listed on the left under Mail & Groups)
- Next to "Mail Server User Name" enter the User ID (ace_gro1 )
- Next to "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server" (ie …
smtp-server.twmi.rr.com)
- Next to "Incoming Mail Server" type mail1.webshowhost.com
- Click "OK"
Microsoft Outlook or Express
- Open your email program (Outlook or Outlook Express):
- On the toolbar on top of your screen - click "Tools"
- Next, choose Accounts
- Click the "Mail" tab along the top of the popup window
- On the left-hand side choose "Add"
- Choose "Mail"
- This puts you in a mail-setup wizard.
- Display name should be your name
- Email address should be your assigned address - for example:
info@brightonjrfootball.com
- Incoming mail server should be -- mail1.webshowhost.com
- Outgoing should be your ISP smtp server (for example:
smtp-server.twmi.rr.com)
- Account name should have been given to you in your welcome email.
- Your password should have been given to you in your welcome email.
- Choose your connection (LAN)
